According to Japanese officials, J-15 fighter jets launched from China's "Liaoning" aircraft carrier targeted Japanese military aircraft with radar. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The incident occurred near the Okinawa Islands. The Japanese government has lodged an official protest with China regarding this event.
Japan's Defense Minister Shinjiro Koizumi emphasized that China's actions will be met with a firm but calm response. He noted the importance of ensuring the safety of military personnel and maintaining regional stability.
At the same time, a Chinese military representative stated that Japanese aircraft interfered with China's exercises and described Japan's statements as incorrect. The Australian Defense Minister also commented on the issue, expressing concern over China's actions alongside Japan.
He expressed readiness to cooperate in maintaining regional peace. Recently, relations between China and Japan have become more tense, particularly due to statements by the Japanese Prime Minister regarding Taiwan.
According to Japanese information, the radar's potential attack signal on another aircraft forces pilots to take precautionary measures. In response to this incident, Japan scrambled F-15 fighter jets.
Experts assess this event as one of the most serious military confrontations between China and Japan in recent years.
