
On December 8, a strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.7 occurred off the coast of Aomori Prefecture in northeastern Japan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This event was recorded by the Japan Meteorological Agency, which issued a tsunami warning with a height of 1 meter. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 20 kilometers underground and posed a threat to Miyagi, Iwate, and Aomori prefectures as well as the Hokkaido islands.
Another strong tremor was observed in this area following a previous earthquake with a magnitude of 7.5. That earthquake caused a tsunami and injured nearly 40 people.
Experts emphasize that aftershocks may occur following this earthquake. Therefore, local residents need to remain alert and take safety precautions.
