A major police raid in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, resulted in severe consequences. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During the operation conducted on October 28 in the Penha and Alemão areas, at least 121 people died, including several police officers. The raid was planned to capture the leaders of criminal groups.
However, before the operation began, information about it leaked, causing armed individuals to resist. As a result, prolonged shootings occurred, and life in the area almost came to a halt.
During the raid, schools were closed, transportation was restricted, and local residents were forced to hide in their homes for safety reasons. In some areas, vehicles were set on fire, and bullet marks were observed on the streets.
Although the government considered the raid successful, human rights defenders and local residents emphasize that the number of casualties is excessively high. They are demanding an open and fair investigation into the incident.
