Armed clash on the Tajikistan-Afghanistan border: 5 killed
On the night of December 24, an armed clash occurred on the border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

The incident took place in the Shamsiddin Shohin district of Tajikistan. According to information provided by the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan, two Tajik citizens were killed as a result of the event.

From the Afghan side, three armed individuals attacked a post on the Tajikistan border. They refused to obey the border guards' order to surrender and offered armed resistance.

According to official information, these individuals had planned the attack on the border in advance. During the clash, all three individuals were neutralized.

At the scene, rifles, automatic weapons, hand grenades, explosives, and other ammunition were seized. In the clash, 28-year-old Ismatullo Qurbunov and 33-year-old Zirebon Navro‘zbekov, who served in the "Sarichashma" military unit of Tajikistan, were killed.

This is the third armed clash on the Tajikistan-Afghanistan border in the past month. The Tajik government called on the leadership of the "Taliban" in Afghanistan to strengthen measures to ensure security at the border.

The State Committee for National Security noted that the border guards have all the necessary capabilities to protect the country.
