Trump announced his support for Iranian protesters

Former US President Donald Trump expressed his stance on the ongoing protests in the streets of Iran and promised support to the demonstrators. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In a statement posted on his Truth Social social media page, he called on Iranian citizens to continue the protests and emphasized that assistance would be provided to them. This was reported by the media.
In his statement, Trump advised the protesters to remain determined and urged them to remember the names of those responsible for violence and torture. He stressed that these individuals would be held accountable for their actions.
Trump added that he had temporarily suspended all agreements with Iranian officials and that aid would arrive soon. It should be noted that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had stated a day earlier that Iran is prepared for any US actions, including military scenarios.
Protests across Iran began on December 28, 2025, at the "Grand Bazaar" in Tehran due to the devaluation of the national currency and economic difficulties. Soon, these actions spread to other cities.
Many injuries were reported in clashes with police and security forces. On January 8, 2026, the situation escalated further, with reports that protesters set fire to buses, ambulances, houses, mosques, hospitals, and banks.
In response, the government restricted internet access across the country.
