An Uzbek individual was sentenced to 20 years in Russia

A court verdict has been issued against an Uzbek citizen suspected of terrorist activities in Russia. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Uzbek citizen Otkirov Javohir Davronovich was found guilty of committing crimes under several articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. According to court materials, in January 2023, he expressed his readiness to act in the interests of the banned terrorist organization "Islamic State" in Russia through a video message.
Subsequently, following the organization's instructions, he is said to have taken on tasks related to selecting a location for a potential attack, conducting reconnaissance, and preparing an explosive device. According to information, in September 2023, he traveled to Russia, prepared photo and video materials of certain facilities in the city of Stavropol, and sent them to representatives of the organization.
In December, it was noted that he purchased parts necessary for the explosive device. Otkirov was detained on December 18, 2023.
According to the court verdict, he was sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment. The first 5 years will be served in prison, and the remaining term in a strict regime colony.
Additionally, he was fined 1 million rubles. So far, the verdict has not come into legal force and can be appealed.
