A new border post has been opened on the border with Uzbekistan

A new border post has been commissioned in the Batken region of Kyrgyzstan, in the area bordering Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to local publications, the opening of this border outpost, named Sog'ment, is regarded as one of the important steps toward strengthening state security and ensuring stability in the border areas. This new facility will serve to organize border control between the two states more effectively.
All necessary conditions have been created at the new post for border guards to perform their duties with quality and efficiency. In particular, a barracks meeting modern requirements has been built, and all infrastructure facilities necessary for the service process have been established.
Military personnel serving in this area regularly guard more than twelve kilometers of the state border between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. The launch of the Sog'ment border post is expected to help strengthen overall security in the region, improve the border control system, and ensure the rule of law in neighboring areas.
The modernization of such important infrastructure facilities in border regions is of great importance not only for state interests but also for the safety of the population living in these areas and for the development of practical cooperation between the two countries. Previously, information was provided regarding changes in the operating procedures at several border crossing points.
Specifically, the Fergana border customs post, the Oq qiya customs point at the crossing to Shohimardon village, and the Chashma customs point of the So'x border customs post were switched to a 24/7 operating mode. All such measures are aimed at regulating movement in border areas, creating convenient conditions for citizens, and strengthening friendly interstate relations.
