Thousands of women in Central Asia are being forced into cyber fraud

Evidence has been uncovered showing that thousands of women were held against their will and forced into criminal activities in hidden cyber-scam centers located in Southeast Asia. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
As a result of special operations conducted in Cambodia, Myanmar, and Laos, several victims were liberated. The women were primarily lured to these locations through fake job advertisements on the internet.
They were promised high salaries, comfortable living conditions, and official employment. However, upon arrival, they were forced to deceive people online and embezzle their money.
Women who refused to perform the tasks were beaten, tortured, and subjected to various threats. According to some documents, cases of sexual violence against the women and instances where they were sold to other groups have also been recorded.
Law enforcement organizations continue their activities to identify the individuals who managed these criminal networks and to return the victims to their home countries. The investigation is still ongoing.
