Air defense systems shot down 419 drones in the Russian attack

Tensions between Russia and Ukraine are escalating to a new level, as reported by Zamin.uz.
On the night of June 30, Ukrainian armed forces launched a large-scale drone attack against Russian territories and the Crimean Peninsula. According to official data from the Russian Ministry of Defense, air defense systems detected and destroyed a total of 419 unmanned aerial vehicles throughout the night.
This attack has been recorded as one of the largest operations in recent times. Russian officials emphasized that more than 60 of the drones were directly aimed at Moscow and its surrounding districts.
Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin stated that air defense forces shot down all drones approaching the capital. According to him, emergency services are conducting inspections in areas where drone debris fell.
No reports have emerged of serious damage or casualties within the city itself. However, the situation in Moscow Oblast was significantly more severe.
According to Moscow Oblast Governor Andrey Vorobyov, drone fragments fell on a private residence in the town of Yegorevsk, located approximately 96 kilometers from the capital. This triggered a major fire in the building.
Although rescuers evacuated residents from the house, a six-month-old infant died during transport to the hospital. Additionally, several other people at the scene sustained injuries of varying severity.
The drone attack also caused serious disruptions at Moscow’s international airports. Russian aviation authorities temporarily suspended arrivals and departures at four major airports in the capital as a precautionary measure for safety.
These restrictions led to changes in passengers’ travel plans and the rerouting of flights to alternate airfields in other regions. The Ukrainian side emphasized that these attacks are primarily aimed at weakening Russia’s military capabilities.
In particular, it was reported that the space communications center in the town of Dubna, north of Moscow, was targeted. According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, this facility plays an important role in stabilizing Russia’s military satellite communications.
Russia has not yet provided precise details about the extent of damage to the facility, only confirming that one of the administrative buildings was destroyed.
