Russia does not want to discuss the issue of returning the occupied Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, and Kherson regions in peace negotiations regarding Ukraine, said Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov to TASS.
— These territories, as stated in our Constitution, are an inseparable part of the Russian Federation. This is an undeniable, indisputable fact, — said Peskov.
Earlier, former US President Donald Trump had stated that he would help the country "return as much territory as possible" before signing a peace agreement with Ukraine. Peskov rejected this proposal, emphasizing that such an opportunity does not exist.
According to the press secretary, Russia has a firm position on this matter. However, this does not hinder political dialogue between the US and Russia to resolve the military conflict.
— No one expects decisions to be made easily and quickly. The issue on our agenda is extremely complex. However, if the two countries demonstrate political will and are ready to listen to each other, I believe we can move forward in the negotiation process, — Peskov added.
