The USA has announced the condition for restoring military aid to Ukraine

US President Donald Trump is ready to consider the issue of restoring military aid if peace negotiations are held with Ukraine and "confidence-building measures" are implemented. This was announced by White House National Security Advisor Michael Waltz, according to Reuters.
Peace negotiations are crucial for military aid
Waltz emphasized that if the parties make efforts to negotiate and bring the process to certain results, Trump may decide to restore military aid allocated to Ukraine.
"If we can start negotiations and successfully conclude them, as well as take some measures to build confidence, the president will be ready to make a positive decision on this matter," Waltz said.
He also stated that the United States is discussing the venue and date for a meeting with Ukraine.
The position of Ukraine and Zelensky's response
It should be noted that on March 3, Donald Trump made a decision to temporarily suspend military aid to Ukraine. Then, on March 4, he announced during a speech before Congress that he had received a letter from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressing readiness for negotiations. Waltz assessed this letter as "a good and positive first step."
The US is currently working on confidence-building measures with Ukraine, and this process will later be discussed with Russia.
However, Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his dissatisfaction, stating that the meeting held at the White House on February 28 did not yield the expected results.
"This meeting did not produce the hoped-for results. It is very regrettable that this event took place. It is time to correct everything. We want future cooperation and dialogue to be constructive," Zelensky wrote in his statement.
Nevertheless, the Ukrainian president has expressed his readiness to sign an agreement for cooperation with the US in the field of natural resources. He also emphasized his willingness to actively work towards ending the war as soon as possible.
How will future relations be shaped?
It is currently unclear which direction the negotiations between the US and Ukraine will take. The Trump administration is waiting to see the start of peace negotiations and the implementation of practical steps. Ukraine has expressed its support for strengthening cooperation with the United States and ending the war as soon as possible.
How this process will develop and when a final decision regarding US military aid will be made remains uncertain.
