Reforms for the commercialization of scientific results are beginning in Uzbekistan
Important reforms are being launched in Uzbekistan regarding the implementation of scientific achievements into practice and the production of new technological products. Zamin.uz reported this.
According to the decree adopted by the President, the process of establishing spin-off companies based on higher education and scientific research institutions will be elevated to a new stage. These measures aim to commercialize scientific results and form a production system based on new developments in the country.
Under the new regulations, a number of privileges and conveniences will be created for such companies starting from May 1, 2026. In particular, unnecessary bureaucratic obstacles in the process of state registration for newly established enterprises will be eliminated.
Additionally, additional agreements required to determine the state's share in the charter capital will be abolished, further liberalizing entrepreneurial activity. The peculiarity of spin-off companies is that their workforce must consist not only of business representatives but also of professors, researchers, and students.
Such an approach serves to link theoretical knowledge with practical production and increase the role of specialists in economic activity. Significant changes are also expected regarding the attraction of investment.
Existing restrictions on formalizing agreements and contracts with investors will be removed. Furthermore, venture financing opportunities will be expanded for companies established through the fund for supporting innovative activities.
This will ensure the stability of financial resources in implementing new projects. These reforms will provide a major boost to overall economic development, particularly technological progress and the creation of new jobs.
The integration of science and industry will serve as one of the key factors
