Residents of the capital are complaining about the lack of measures against serious violations of traffic rules. This was reported by Upl.uz.
Citizens send videos showing violations to a special website for actions to be taken against offenders by law enforcement agencies. However, recently law enforcement has started to refuse to take action.
I have been driving for almost ten years and have hardly been fined. I always adhere to traffic rules.
About six months ago, I installed a dashcam due to numerous violations on the roads. I started sending violations to combat traffic disorder.
Unfortunately, none of the three videos I sent received any action from law enforcement. They stated that the numbers in one video were not clearly visible, while their comments on the other videos were amusing.
For example, in one video, a driver went into oncoming traffic, but this action was considered normal because the lane markings were not visible to law enforcement. In the second video, a driver cut me off, creating an emergency situation, but this was also accepted as a usual occurrence on our roads.
This raises the question: why are law enforcement agencies protecting offenders, said one of the activists. Another person from a group of activists continues to take photos and videos while walking.
He also mentioned that he has received refusals in many cases. According to him, it seems that action is only taken when several violations are clearly visible in one video or photo.
Activists are dissatisfied with the current situation. If the authorities cannot ensure safety on the roads, then they should at least not hinder the efforts of citizens who want to combat traffic rule violations.
This way, it should be possible to improve the state of traffic in the city.
