General Motors has announced that it will not hold a presentation of new models at the 2025 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS), according to speedme.ru. This marks the second consecutive year that the company is skipping premieres at NYIAS, even though its Buick, Chevrolet, GMC, and Cadillac brands are participating.
At the same time, GM will remain part of the auto show: the company will showcase its stands and provide the opportunity to test Chevy and Cadillac electric vehicles on a special track. However, no new models or concepts are planned for debut.
The company is currently focusing on other projects. These include the updated Chevrolet Bolt EV on the Ultium platform, the sporty Cadillac Optiq-V expected to be presented in 2026, the hybrid supercar Corvette Zora, and the off-road Silverado EV ZR2 version.
The decision to skip premieres is related to the changing approach of automakers — many companies are prioritizing online presentations and standalone events over traditional auto shows.
Despite GM's participation without surprises, the New York Auto Show will take place from April 18 to April 27, featuring nearly two dozen brands.
