Renault is fully acquiring Nissan
Renault is acquiring a 51% stake in the RNAIPL plant in India in collaboration with Nissan, thus taking full control of production in Chennai, according to speedme.ru.

The plant has the capacity to produce over 400,000 vehicles annually. Renault plans to launch the CMF-B platform here and develop four new models.

Nissan will continue to utilize its production capabilities but will now focus more on local projects. The Renault-Nissan alliance is restructuring its shareholding: the parties may reduce their stakes in each other to 10%.

Starting from 2026, Renault will develop a model based on the new Twingo for Nissan. India remains a strategic direction for Renault, and the company is accelerating development in the region as part of its global strategy through 2027.
