General Motors has confirmed that the new 2026 Chevrolet Captiva EV electric crossover will be available in all South American countries, as reported by SpeedMe.ru. After the official presentation, the vehicle is being delivered to Brazilian ports and will also be available for sale in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay, and Paraguay.
Fabio Rua, Vice President of GM South America, emphasized that the Captiva EV is a strategic model for Chevrolet's global electric vehicle segment. The car will be launched in the regional market by the end of this year.
The Captiva EV is the second electric vehicle presented by Chevrolet for the entire South American market, following the Spark EUV which was introduced in 2026. The electric vehicle will be sold alongside the 7-seater gasoline Captiva XL model.
The world premiere is expected in Brazil or other South American countries in the coming months. According to insiders, the Captiva EV is based on the Wuling Starlight S model, adapted to Chevrolet's design. This will be an important milestone for SGMW (SAIC-GM-Wuling) in entering the international market.
