Toyota to create a new compact pickup based on the RAV4

Compact pickup trucks have become one of the fastest-growing segments in the automotive world today. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In particular, following the unexpected success of the Ford Maverick model, the famous Toyota company is also planning to establish itself in this segment. The management of Toyota's North American division said they are seriously considering the possibility of creating a new compact pickup based on the RAV4 crossover.
According to company representatives, such a model is eagerly awaited not only by customers but also by dealer centers. Currently, the Ford Maverick is not giving up its leadership in the US market.
Over the past year, more than 155,000 units of this model have been sold, demonstrating strong demand in the segment. At the same time, it is observed that other competitors like the Hyundai Santa Cruz are failing to achieve expected results and losing their market position.
Toyota specialists aim to fill this gap and provide a quality, efficient, and reliable vehicle. If the project is approved, the new pickup is expected to be equipped with modern hybrid engines of the RAV4 model.
According to reports, while the current RAV4 hybrid system has 236 horsepower, its charging version delivers 324 horsepower. Moreover, this technology allows the vehicle to travel up to 84 kilometers on electric power alone.
Such technical advantages will undoubtedly make the future pickup stronger and more fuel-efficient compared to competitors. However, Toyota management stated that a certain amount of time is required to bring the project to perfection, and the presentation date remains confidential for now.
