Peugeot and Dongfeng unveil new flagship electric vehicles in collaboration

Peugeot, the famous French brand, is preparing to introduce two new flagship electric vehicles to the public in collaboration with China's Dongfeng company. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
As part of this project, the models to be produced are expected to be the largest and most technologically advanced vehicles in the brand's history. However, the company's management has officially confirmed that these new products will not be sold in the European market.
This has been reported by influential publications. Based on the concept cars showcased at the Beijing Auto Show, these models will belong to the D-segment.
One of them will be a station wagon, while the other will be a crossover, larger than all current Peugeot models sold in Europe, and will be produced in a crossover body style. Peugeot CEO Alain Fave emphasized that although the new electric vehicles are based on the Dongfeng platform and transmission, they will retain the full spirit of the Peugeot brand.
The main question on many people's minds is to what extent an automobile brand based on Chinese technology will meet the traditional quality and style standards of the French brand. According to Fave, this is not simply a matter of sticking a Peugeot logo on another model, but rather a product of equal two-way partnership.
French engineers and designers have taken full responsibility for both the exterior appearance and the interior of the vehicle. The new models are primarily intended for the Chinese market and certain export regions.
Given the high interest in Peugeot models manufactured in China in Central Asian countries like Uzbekistan, the likelihood of these flagships appearing on the roads of our region in the future is very high. The company expresses confidence that these electric vehicles will fully meet the demands of customers outside Europe.
According to management, the new models are slightly larger than European standards in size and were specifically designed to meet the tastes of Chinese consumers. For this reason, European customers will not have the opportunity to purchase these vehicles.
purchase these cars.
Peugeot will continue its strategy in Europe through models built on its own platforms within the Stellantis alliance. The company plans to introduce seven new models in this region by 2030, including the new-generation e-208 and 308 hatchbacks.
In summary, the Peugeot-Dongfeng partnership serves to expand the brand's global influence. While the main technological base is sourced from China, the French brand promises to preserve its unique style and driving comfort.
This will undoubtedly intensify competition in the premium segment.
