Aston Martin is typically known as a manufacturer of expensive and exclusive sports cars. However, it occasionally presents unusual models as well. One of these is the 2025 Aston Martin Cygnet, which is built on the Toyota iQ platform. This model is developed on a made-to-order basis, with no plans for mass production.
The Aston Martin Cygnet was initially showcased as a concept in 2018, but this project is based on ideas created in the early 2000s. At that time, the company's leadership proposed the idea of developing a small car intended for urban use based on the Toyota iQ platform. However, the new version looks completely different from the previous prototypes.
Engineers managed to install a 4.7-liter V8 engine in the Aston Martin Cygnet within 10 months. This engine replaced the 1.33-liter Toyota engine with 97 horsepower. Now the new model is equipped with a 430-horsepower engine from the Vantage S sports car and a 7-speed automatic transmission.
The price of the compact car is set at $566,000. The engineers not only added a powerful engine but also adapted the front and rear axles of the Vantage to fit the car's body. Inside, there are Recaro sports seats, a safety cage, and carbon fiber supercar panels.
