A video conference meeting was held under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to enhance road safety, improve road infrastructure, and reduce traffic congestion. This was reported by Upl.uz.
During the meeting, dissatisfaction was expressed regarding the issuance of decisions on fines by some road safety authorities 7-8 months after the violations were committed. Therefore, an important decision was made to fundamentally change the procedure for applying fines.
From now on, if a decision is not made within a month regarding violations of traffic rules, the driver will be exempt from the fine. The President also emphasized the need to reconsider the current speed limits in light of the development of modern road infrastructure and the increase in the number of technically equipped vehicles.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs was instructed to compile a list of road sections where speed limits can be reconsidered in cooperation with regional administrations. These measures are aimed at enhancing road safety and reducing congestion.
