Hollywood actor Leonardo Di Caprio revealed that early in his career he was offered to change his name. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the actor, when he signed his first contract with an agent at the age of 12-13, the agent considered his real name “too ethnic” and suggested he perform under a different name. The agent proposed “Lenny Williams” as a new name.
This name was a fabricated new surname along with a shortened version of Di Caprio’s name. The actor recalled the agent’s words, “You will now be Lenny Williams,” on the “New Heights” podcast.
However, the actor’s father was firmly against this idea. Upon seeing a photo signed with his son’s stage name, he became angry and gave a firm refusal, saying “over my dead body.”
As a result, Leonardo Di Caprio kept his real name and achieved worldwide fame under it. This event was one of the important decisions in the actor’s youth, shaping his personality and professional path.
