Electricity Production in Uzbekistan Increases by Seven Percent

The first quarter of 2026 in Uzbekistan's energy sector began with effective results and significant indicators, as reported by Zamin.uz. According to official data provided by the Ministry of Energy, electricity production in the country increased significantly during January-March of this year.
Specifically, the total amount of energy produced during this reporting period recorded a seven percent growth compared to the same period last year. This figure is a result of the reforms being implemented in the sector and the commissioning of new capacities.
Regarding the figures, a total of 23 billion 317 million kilowatt-hours of electricity were produced nationwide during the first three months of this year. For comparison, this figure is 1 billion 471 million kilowatt-hours more than in the corresponding period of 2025.
Such a stable increase in production volume allows for fully meeting the growing energy needs of the population and economic sectors. At the same time, a positive dynamic was also observed in the amount of energy delivered to consumers.
In the first quarter of 2026, a total of 20 billion 163 million kilowatt-hours of electricity were delivered to all categories of consumers in the country. This is 262 million kilowatt-hours, or one percent, more than the figure for the same period last year.
As a result of systematically carried out work, the stability of energy supply is being ensured. The Ministry of Energy is taking new measures to eliminate existing problems in the sector and respond promptly to incoming appeals.
In particular, a special headquarters has been established to further improve the system and prevent potential malfunctions. This headquarters serves as a key link not only in taking prompt measures but also in systematically coordinating work in the field.
In the future, work on ensuring energy security and modernizing the sector will be consistently continued.
