According to Shavkat Mirziyoyev's instructions, humanitarian aid was delivered to Afghanistan in connection with the Navruz holiday and the upcoming Ramadan holiday. This was reported by the Surxondaryo regional administration.
It was noted that nearly 200 tons of food products intended for the Afghan population were delivered to Balkh province.
The necessary food products delivered to the neighboring country were handed over in the territory of the Astras company in the city of Hayraton, with the participation of Uzbekistan's special representative for Afghanistan Ismatilla Irgashev, Surxondaryo regional governor Ulugbek Qosimov, as well as officials from the relevant ministries and Balkh province governor Muhammad Yusuf Vafo and representatives from both sides.
The humanitarian aid included flour, wheat, pasta products, vegetable oil, sugar, instant meals, red beans, and mung beans.
Additionally, a bilateral meeting was held in the city of Mazar-i-Sharif to discuss issues related to the development of future cooperation. During the conversation, specific discussions were also held regarding the construction of the Imam Bukhari mausoleum being built in Afghanistan by Uzbekistan.
Afghan officials expressed their gratitude to the President and people of Uzbekistan for the assistance being provided and sent their sincere congratulations on the upcoming Ramadan holiday.
During the visit, new projects being implemented were also reviewed.
