On April 7, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with a delegation led by the Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam, Chan Thanh Man, who is on an official visit to the country.
At the beginning of the conversation, the head of the delegation conveyed greetings from the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, To Lam, President Luong Quang, and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to the leader of Uzbekistan.
The issues of further developing the multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and Vietnam, primarily in the fields of trade, economy, and investment, were discussed in detail.
The necessity of systematizing intergovernmental and interdepartmental communications was noted. The importance of effectively holding the Intergovernmental Commission meeting and business forum in Hanoi this year was emphasized.
It was agreed to prepare a comprehensive program for industrial cooperation in energy, geology, oil and gas chemistry, electrical engineering, textiles, agriculture, and other sectors to promote new projects.
Special attention was paid to developing exchanges in the fields of culture and tourism, including the introduction of a visa-free regime.
It was agreed to activate inter-parliamentary dialogue to ensure the practical implementation of joint initiatives.
A visa-free regime may be introduced between Uzbekistan and Vietnam
