An operation was conducted in Tashkent city by the State Security Service in cooperation with the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the Prosecutor General's Office.
In this case, a citizen living in Samarkand deceived a foreign citizen, claiming that he would send him and four family members to work in the USA through Turkey for 30 thousand US dollars each, totaling 150 thousand US dollars. He was detained while receiving 15 thousand US dollars in advance to prepare visa documents through his official acquaintances.
In another case, a foreign citizen temporarily residing in the capital deceived another foreign citizen, claiming he had the ability to prepare fake British citizenship passports for him. He then demanded a total of 25 thousand US dollars in exchange for sending them to the USA through Turkey and the United Arab Emirates using these fake passports.
As a result of the conducted operations, this citizen was detained while receiving 12,500 US dollars in advance. Additionally, counterfeit passports and ID cards were seized from his residence as physical evidence.
Criminal cases have been initiated under part 4 "a" of Article 168 and part 3 "a" of Article 211 of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are underway.
