Moscow's "Lokomotiv" started its fifth home game in the Russian Premier League this season. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Since 2021, the team has achieved consecutive victories and draws in the first rounds. They won 3:1 against "Arsenal," drew with "Pari NN" and "Rubin," and also defeated "Akron" 3:2.
Now, "Lokomotiv" hosted the "Sochi" team at their home ground. The match took place at the "RJD Arena" stadium, where "Lokomotiv" celebrated a 3:0 victory.
The goals were scored by Rudyenko, Vorobyov, and Bakaev. In the first half of the game, "Lokomotiv" controlled the field but struggled to open the scoring.
In the final minutes, the team effectively executed attacks to secure the victory. The "Sochi" team switched to positional defense in the second half, reducing their attacks, but could not stop the opponent's dominance.
Last season, "Lokomotiv" showed good results, competing for first place with "Krasnodar" and "Zenit." However, by the end of the year, the results worsened, and they finished the season in sixth place.
"Sochi," on the other hand, secured fifth place in the first league competition and returned to the Premier League after winning in the playoffs. The team's head coach, Robert Moreno, remains in his position.
The starting lineup of "Lokomotiv" showcased a blend of experienced and young players. Players like Komlichenko, Saltykov, Batrakov, and Rudyenko took to the field.
In the "Sochi" lineup, there were also new loan players along with those who remained from the previous season. In the match, "Lokomotiv" was more offensive, creating good opportunities.
In some situations, however, the goalkeepers and defenders acted effectively. In the end, "Lokomotiv" won, taking the lead in the tournament table and looking forward to the next games.
