Former Moscow “Spartak” team and Soviet Union national team defender Yevgeny Lovchev commented on the controversial situation between “Spartak” and Makhachkala “Dynamo” in the first round of the Russian championship. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
In the 25th minute of the match, “Dynamo” defender Moxamed Azzi played with his hand in the penalty area. The chief referee Vasiliy Kazartsev reviewed the situation and refused to award a penalty, noting that there was a foul in the attack.
According to Lovchev, Kazartsev did not see the foul himself and someone advised him. In his opinion, this situation should have resulted in a penalty, as such handballs are usually not counted during a corner kick, but this time the referee stopped the game.
Moxamed Azzi received two yellow cards in the second half and left the field. “Spartak” won the match 1:0.
Additionally, Kazartsev did not count four goals scored against “Dynamo”. In the next round, on July 26, “Spartak” will face Kaliningrad's “Baltika”.
