Kanchelskis: The level difference between Zenit and Spartak teams

Former Russian football player Andrey Kanchelskis has compared the current levels of St. Petersburg's Zenit and Moscow's Spartak teams. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

According to him, today Spartak and Zenit are teams of different strengths. Under the leadership of head coach Semak, Zenit has the strongest squad, and its individual players are also considered stronger.

Kanchelskis believes that only two or three players from the current Spartak could make it into the Zenit squad. Spartak last won the Russian championship in 2017, while Zenit has maintained consecutive championships from 2019 to 2024.

Last season, Spartak finished the championship in fourth place, while Zenit was second. In the first round of the current season, Spartak defeated Dinamo from Makhachkala 1:0 at home, while Zenit secured victory in a strong match against Rostov.
