Uzbek chess players have triumphed once again in a prestigious competition! Talented grandmaster Nodirbek Yakubboyev secured the championship at the Prague International Chess Festival held in the Czech capital, Prague.
Perfect moves – undefeated championship
Our compatriot, who participated in the Challengers group, did not face defeat throughout the tournament. Over 9 rounds, he accumulated 7 points, leaving his opponents behind. A victory over Jonas Bjerre in the final round ensured Yakubboyev's championship.

This victory for Nodirbek Yakubboyev not only brought a prize but also provided an opportunity to step up to another high level in the chess world. High results in chess have also reflected in Nodirbek Yakubboyev's personal ranking. When the World Chess Federation (FIDE) updated the February rankings, the Uzbek grandmaster rose to 71st place with a rating of 2654.
