Popov: Rubin cannot compete for medals

Former "Rubin" football player Aleksey Popov commented on the Kazan team's chances in the current season of the Russian Premier League. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

According to him, it is difficult for "Rubin" to compete for medals. Popov stated that the team is currently only demonstrating a defense-based style of play, and such teams do not compete for medals.

In the expert's opinion, the maximum result for the team led by Rashid Rahimov could be finishing sixth in the league table. "Rubin" has defeated "Akhmat" 2-0 this season and drawn 2-2 with "Zenit," currently sitting in fourth place in the standings.

In the third round, the Kazan club will face the "Sochi" team. This match will take place on August 4.
