Igor Zazulin, a former midfielder of Zenit St. Petersburg, who played for the club in the 1990s, evaluated the debut of the team's new player Jerson Santos. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
The Brazilian player Jerson Santos joined Zenit during the summer transfer window. He has previously played for his national team, as well as for Italy's Roma and Fiorentina, and France's Marseille.
The club paid 25 million euros for his transfer to Zenit. According to Igor Zazulin, Jerson Santos was mainly brought in to replace Wendel.
However, in Zazulin's opinion, it is also possible for these two players to operate together on the field. If Wendel and Jerson play together in central midfield, the need for wing attackers to return to defense will decrease.
Additionally, Marcus Wendel could have left Zenit in the summer. He was offered by Brazil's Botafogo club, but this transfer did not happen at the last minute.
After that, the player also rejected an offer from Saudi Arabia's Al-Ittihad club and was subsequently included in Zenit's main squad for the new season. He is currently continuing to play for the team.
