The head coach of St. Petersburg's "Zenit" football team, Sergey Semak, responded to criticisms regarding the lack of young players in the squad. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, the team receives more criticism precisely because "Zenit" is one of the leading clubs. Semak emphasized that if young players are stronger than experienced ones, they will definitely get to play in the main squad.
The coach's words were quoted by the "Match TV" channel. Currently, after the first two rounds of the Russian Premier League, "Zenit" has accumulated four points and is in sixth place in the league table.
In the next match, the team will face Moscow's "CSKA" at home. This match will take place on June 3, Sunday, at the "Gazprom Arena" stadium.
According to the specialist, there are opportunities for young players in "Zenit," and if they can prove themselves, they may secure a place in the main squad. At the same time, the team's results are also of significant importance.
