
Famous journalist and writer Pavel Alyoshin spoke about how Moscow's Spartak football club decided against purchasing Croatian midfielder Luka Modric. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Alyoshin also recalled agent Dushan Djurich in his memories. He had helped bring several players to the Amkar club.
According to Alyoshin, the agent once offered young Modric to Spartak club. At that time, it would have taken 300 thousand euros to bring Luka Modric to the club.
However, the club's management decided that the young player's short height would not fit the team, and therefore the transfer did not happen. Later, Luka Modric spent a significant part of his career at Madrid's Real club.
However, this summer, the midfielder left the club as a free agent. In mid-July, the 39-year-old player signed a contract with Italy's Milan club.
Thus, due to a decision by Spartak's management, Modric found the opportunity to become one of the most famous football players in the world at another club
