Nikolay Naumov, the former president of the "Lokomotiv" club, emphasized that the upcoming match against "Zenit" could be the last for "Spartak" team’s head coach Deyan Stankovich. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to Naumov, the problem at "Spartak" lies with the coach and his assistants. There is excessive nervousness in the team, and Stankovich is creating a negative atmosphere for the players.
He stated that if "Spartak" cannot show a good result in the upcoming match against "Zenit," the issue of the coach's resignation may come to the agenda. Earlier, there were reports in the media that the leadership of the "red-whites" had begun searching for a new coach to replace the Serbian specialist.
This was caused by the team's recent results. Last Saturday, "Spartak" lost 2:4 to "Lokomotiv" in the fourth round of the Russian championship and failed to win for the third consecutive match.
Currently, the capital club is in 11th place in the league table with four points. Therefore, the issue of the coach's resignation is being seriously discussed.
