Villarreal and Barcelona want to hold a La Liga match in the USA

According to a statement published on the official website of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, the clubs "Villarreal" and "Barcelona" have submitted a request to hold the La Liga match of the 17th round in the USA. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

The federation approved the consideration of the clubs' request at a meeting held on Monday. Now this issue will be sent to the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) and the International Football Federation (FIFA).

This match could take place on December 20, Saturday, at the "Hard Rock" stadium in Miami. For reference, in the history of the Spanish championship, no official match has ever been held in another country.

In recent years, La Liga president Javier Tebas has been actively promoting the initiative to hold a match of the championship in the USA. Once the necessary permissions are obtained, this game could be held abroad.
