Agent Entso Raiola explained why the contract between Gianluigi Donnarumma and the Paris club was not extended. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
It has been revealed that the Paris club and the goalkeeper could not reach an agreement. The current contract will expire next summer.
Last week, the Paris club added a new goalkeeper – Luca Chevalier to the squad. He previously played for Lille.
The club management expressed confidence in the French goalkeeper, and for this reason, the Italian goalkeeper Donnarumma was put up for transfer. On Tuesday, Donnarumma announced that he would leave the club.
In an interview, Entso Raiola said: We had discussed extending the contract until the Club World Cup. I do not believe the coach changed his mind within a month.
This situation hurt me the most. In such circumstances, not extending the contract was the right decision.
For now, it is unclear which club Donnarumma will continue his career with. According to some sources, he has already agreed to join England's Manchester City.
However, no official statements have been made yet. Clarity regarding Donnarumma's future is expected in the coming days.
