Former “Zenit” striker Aleksey Gasilin predicted that Moscow's “Spartak” head coach Dejan Stankovich might resign. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, this event could occur after the fifth round of the Russian championship, specifically after the match against “Zenit.” Currently, “Spartak” has won only once in four rounds and has accumulated a total of four points.
In Gasilin's opinion, the game against “Zenit” will be crucial for Stankovich. If “Spartak” cannot win this match, there is a high probability that Stankovich will leave the team.
The expert emphasized that only a victory is necessary for Stankovich to remain in his position. Gasilin also mentioned that a victory for “Zenit” could also be beneficial for “Spartak.”
Because he pointed out that it is time for the “Spartak” team to part ways with the Serbian specialist and work with a new coach. Earlier, the “Spartak” management had given Stankovich the opportunity to improve the situation with three to five games.
Two of these games have already ended unsuccessfully. The match between “Spartak” and “Zenit” will take place on August 16 at “Spartak”'s home stadium.
This game will be held as part of the fifth round of the Russian championship.
