Former player of "Kuban" and Moscow "Spartak" Ivelin Popov defended Deyan Stankovich, who has been criticized. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to Popov, if "Spartak" is not achieving success, it does not mean the coach's level is low. He emphasized that Stankovich previously worked with "Crvena Zvezda" and "Ferencváros" teams and achieved good results there.
Sometimes a very good player can move to another team and face failure, and similar situations happen with coaches as well, said Popov. It should be recalled that under Stankovich's leadership, "Spartak" has won only two out of six matches this season.
In the last five official matches, "Spartak" has won only once, namely in the first round of the Russian Cup against "Rostov".
