Rud Gullit criticized modern football: creativity is disappearing

Former Chelsea midfielder and Dutch football legend Rud Gullit expressed sharp opinions about modern football. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
He emphasized that today's football matches have physical fitness and discipline, but the number of creative players, those who excite fans, is gradually decreasing. These views sparked wide discussion in European media after his appearance on Dutch television.
According to Gullit, he now watches some games only "because it is necessary," as modern football no longer gives him the same pleasure as before. According to information cited by The Sun newspaper, after the Arsenal and Chelsea match, he described modern football as "very ugly" and compared it to a strategic game.
The legend believes that players are not freely creative on the field but seem to be merely executing prepared tasks. He considers this situation worrying because football should not only be about running and pressing but also offer unexpected moves and individual skill to the audience.
Otherwise, the game becomes lifeless. Gullit especially criticized the excessive passing in matches and the reluctance to take risks in dangerous situations.
In his opinion, ball circulation on the field has increased, but dribbling past opponents and astonishing fans has decreased. This view also spread widely on social networks, with many quotes highlighting Gullit's dissatisfaction with "why does everyone only pass?"
Gullit's words are not mere complaints but a painful diagnosis of the modern game from someone who has witnessed a great era of football. According to him, today's football can be organized and strong, but if it loses joy, creativity, and courage, then something is definitely missing.
For this reason, his criticism raised a question among many: is football developing or gradually losing its most flavorful aspects?
