After defeating "Nasaf" with a large score (3:2) in the third round of the Uzbekistan Cup, the head coach of the "Pakhtakor" team, Kamoliddin Tojiyev, participated in a press conference after the match, discussing the team's situation, losses in the squad, and future plans.
Losses and injuries – the coach's explanation
Tojiyev explained the absence of some key players in "Pakhtakor" due to injuries:
“Flamarion and Islombek Abdullayev had injuries. Also, Holmatov and Hamdamov missed the game due to injuries. Jonatan Lukka suffered a serious knee injury. He is out for six months.”
National team level players, but high psychological pressure
The coach emphasized the high potential of the players in "Pakhtakor" but noted the need to pay special attention to their psychological state:
“Almost all of the guys are players at the national team level. However, they have recently fallen into a psychological slump. Correcting this is my most important task. We will continue to provide psychological support.”

Although Kamoliddin Tojiyev noted that the team is effective in attack, he stated that serious attention needs to be paid to mistakes in defense:
“We are scoring goals, which is good. However, the number of goals we are conceding is increasing. This is very concerning. There are many mistakes and uncertainties in the defensive line.”
He also responded to a question about Hamdamov's game practice:
“His game practice was not sufficient. That is why we brought him on as a substitute. The injury occurred in that very game.”

“There is no secondary front in Pakhtakor. Both the Cup and the Super League are very important for us. No matter which competition we participate in, we only fight for the championship.”
