England fans unhappy with FIFA ticket prices

English football fans have expressed dissatisfaction with the ticket prices set by FIFA for the 2026 World Cup. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
They made their stance clear well in advance and refused to purchase the expensive tickets offered. The issue concerns not only regular tickets but also those for the final matches, priced between £3,130 and £6,489.
Fans rejected these prices, saying "no thanks, we don't want them." According to information, 90% of the 30,000 members of the England Supporters Travel Club did not want to buy tickets at the prices offered by FIFA.
This situation was also clearly reflected in the sales results of the English Football Association. For example, out of 4,500 tickets allocated for the final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on July 19, only 3,409 were sold.
The remaining 1,091 tickets went unsold, with a total value exceeding £7.1 million. Most of these unsold tickets belonged to the most expensive — Category 1 seats, which further demonstrates how unsuitable these prices are for fans.
The situation is similar for the semi-final matches: out of 3,500 seats, only 2,686 were sold. Although cheaper tickets priced at £45 sold quickly, a large number of tickets priced between £687 and £2,370 remained unsold.
It has become clear that fans are thinking not only about enjoying the game but also about spending their money wisely. If FIFA and other organizers do not reconsider their pricing policy, it may be difficult to fill stadiums at future major tournaments.
This will make the football celebration more challenging for genuine fans. Therefore, organizers need to offer popular and more affordable prices for a larger number of fans in the future.
