Within the framework of the training camp held in Tajikistan, the “Andijon” club played a friendly match against the local “Khujand” team, which ended in a 1:1 draw. After the match, the team’s head coach Maksim Shatskix gave an interview to the club's press service, sharing his thoughts on the team's condition and future plans.
According to the specialist, the match against “Khujand” was an important opportunity not only to test physical condition but also tactical skills. “We faced a good opponent. In this game, we focused on assessing the physical and mental preparedness of the players and reviewing our youth. Especially, the players brought in from the substitutes tried to showcase their abilities,” said Shatskix.
The head coach emphasized that such matches serve as a great experience for young players. “Young players gain valuable insights by playing alongside experienced footballers and develop their potential. This is a valuable experience for them,” he added.
He also noted that although the game was played at a high tempo, the poor quality of the pitch affected the quality of the game. Nevertheless, it was noted that the instructions given by the coaching staff were fully executed on the field.
“During the 5-day preparation, we were able to see our efforts in this game. We will take a one-day break and then continue serious preparations for the championship match against “Bukhara,” said the coach.
The coach also gave a positive assessment of the organization and conditions of the camp in Tajikistan. “All conditions here are good, and the weather is quite nice. There are no complaints. Training is continuing according to our plan. The guys are working seriously while adhering to the given instructions,” he noted.
The head coach also commented on the legionnaires who recently left the team. “We talked with Jurichkovich and Mashukov. They left due to misunderstandings with the club. But I have always emphasized: no player is guaranteed a spot in the starting lineup. Whoever plays better will take the field,” said Shatskix.
He emphasized that fairness and competition are important in football; those who work harder will have the opportunity. “We confidently put on the player who shows himself in training. It doesn’t matter if they are a local player or a legionnaire — the important thing is who shows strength and determination — that player will play,” said the specialist.
In his closing remarks, Shatskix added: “If a player is on the field, they must fully comply with the coach's instructions. This is my personal requirement, and it is also the law of football.”
