Antoine Griezmann bid farewell to Atletico Madrid teammates and left for the United States

Antoine Griezmann finally said an emotional goodbye to Atletico Madrid fans on Sunday, as reported by Zamin.uz.
Before his move to Orlando City, a representative of MLS in North America, the French striker scored his 100th assist for the club in his final home match, according to Goal.com.
Team goalkeeper Jan Oblak congratulated him warmly after the match, emphasizing that Griezmann fully deserved to win the Ballon d’Or during his brilliant career as one of the world’s best footballers.
The 35-year-old, playing his 500th match, delivered a key pass to Ademola Lookman in the 21st minute, securing the 1-0 victory over Girona.
This assist marked his 100th in red and white, adding to his impressive tally of 212 goals for the club.
Although teammates created several chances for a farewell goal, the legendary forward did not score in his final home appearance. Nevertheless, thousands of fans at the Metropolitano Stadium showed him due respect and admiration.
In his interview, Jan Oblak said he felt fortunate to have played alongside Griezmann, stating that the striker should have won the Ballon d’Or in his prime and still has many successful years ahead in the United States.
Having joined from Real Sociedad in 2014, Griezmann has written one of the brightest chapters in Atletico Madrid’s history.
The team now prepares to face Villarreal in their next match, competing for third place in the league standings.
Meanwhile, Girona must secure a win against Elche to maintain their position in La Liga.
Griezmann’s departure marks the end of an era for the Madrid club.
His actions on the pitch and loyalty to the team will remain in the fans’ memories for a long time.
