Keir Starmer asked to broadcast the YeChL final for free

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has made a special appeal to the management of TNT Sports, one of the country's prestigious television channels. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The head of government called on the channel to broadcast the final match of the UEFA Champions League for free across the entire country. In this decisive match, London's Arsenal and France's PSG will face each other.
According to reports, the London team has reached the final of this prestigious tournament for the first time since 2006. However, currently, many football fans are required to have a paid subscription to watch this historic moment.
The publication Goal.com reported on this situation. It is known that Keir Starmer is a devoted Arsenal fan and regularly follows the team's matches.
In his official letter to the channel's management, he specifically reminded them that all tournament finals since 1992 have been shown to the public for free. In his appeal, the Prime Minister expressed regret that for the first time in the thirty-four years since the competition was established, it has been decided not to show the final for free.
In his view, the Champions League is the largest club competition in the world and is highly valued by fans in this country, which is the home of football. The players led by Mikel Arteta returned to the pinnacle of European football after a twenty-year hiatus by defeating Atletico Madrid in the semi-final stage.
The London club, which won the English Premier League title for the first time since 2004 this very week, is now close to achieving a historic result. Starmer emphasized that making the game open and free for everyone is not just about his personal interests or love for the team, but rather the right of ordinary people to enjoy sports.
In previous years, the TNT Sports channel had a tradition of broadcasting final matches for free on the YouTube platform. However, this year, this tradition has been abandoned, and viewers are being directed to a special paid platform.
Channel representatives stated in their announcement that the price set for watching three major European finals is affordable for fans and provides many conveniences. Nevertheless, pressure from the public and at the government level may lead to a change in this decision.
