Bellingham breaks Rooney's record to become England's youngest player to reach 50 caps
Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham set a historic milestone with the England national team. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

During the 2026 World Cup qualifier against Ghana, the player who came on became the youngest footballer to reach 50 appearances. This achievement allowed him to surpass the long-standing record set by legendary Wayne Rooney.

According to Goal.com, Bellingham reached this mark at the age of 22 years and 359 days.

For comparison, former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney played his 50th match at 23 years and 159 days old. The young talent is not only breaking records but has also become a key driving force in Thomas Tuchel’s squad.

Bellingham’s debut for the national team took place in 2020, and in a short time he has participated in four major international tournaments. This time, he left behind peers such as Jamal Musiala, becoming the youngest European player to feature in four major tournaments.

He currently has 7 goals for the national team. At club level, Bellingham continues to deliver impressive performances for Real Madrid.

In 140 appearances for the club, he has scored 46 goals. His ability to influence games and take responsibility in crucial moments is highly regarded by specialists.

In particular, Jordan Henderson described him as a big-game player, emphasizing his immense importance to the team.

Based on statistical trends, if Bellingham maintains an average of 9 appearances per year over the next decade, he could even surpass Peter Shilton’s all-time record of 125 caps.

Currently, alongside Bukayo Saka, he is among the five English footballers to have made 50 appearances before turning 25. However, for the player himself, team success matters more than personal records.

After a 60-year wait, the England national team aims to finally win a major trophy. The squad is currently fighting to maintain its lead in the World Cup group stage and secure qualification for the knockout phase.

Achieving this goal will undoubtedly depend on Jude Bellingham being at the peak of his form.
