Sebastyan Pokonoli has been appointed as the head coach of the Scotland national team

The Scottish Football Association (SFA) has officially appointed 39-year-old Belgian specialist Sebastian Pocognoli as the head coach of the national team. This was reported by One.uz.
He has signed a two-year contract and will begin preparing for the upcoming season of the UEFA Nations League and future qualification campaigns. Despite his young age, Pocognoli is regarded as one of the most modern and capable coaches on the continent.
Achievements and Experience in Belgium Sebastian Pocognoli led Union Saint-Gilloise to their first league title in 90 years, ending a long drought in Belgian football history.
He later guided the club into the group stage of the UEFA Champions League and also won the Belgian Super Cup. In 2024, named Belgium’s Coach of the Year, Pocognoli moved to Monaco in France’s Ligue 1, where he finished the season in 7th place before departing.
New Chapter in Scotland Pocognoli’s appointment comes after Steve Clark voluntarily stepped down as Scotland head coach following the team’s failure to advance from the group stage at Euro 2024. The SFA leadership aims, under Pocognoli’s guidance, to rejuvenate the team’s play, shift toward a more attacking and modern style, and return to the elite of European football.
This move is intended to mark the beginning of a new era in Scottish football. Source: One.uz
