According to him, "Zenit" may soon surpass "Spartak" in terms of popularity. Kanchelskis emphasized that "Zenit" consistently ranks high and wins championships, while "Spartak" remains in fourth or fifth place.
For this reason, the leadership and team of "Spartak" need to review their activities and develop new strategies. "Spartak" last won the Russian championship in 2017 under the guidance of coach Massimo Carrera. "Zenit," on the other hand, has won PFL gold medals from 2018 to 2024, but last season, for the first time, the "Krasnodar" team became the champion.
