Alexander Dyukov, president of the Russian Football Federation, spoke about how he plans to attend the 2026 FIFA World Cup matches. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, part of the tournament will be held in Canada and the USA. At the same time, both countries have included the head of the Russian Football Federation in their sanctions lists, which prohibits Dyukov from entering their territories.
For this reason, he may not be able to participate in all the matches of the World Cup. Dyukov stated that some matches of the tournament will be held in Mexico, and if possible, he plans to go specifically to watch the games in Mexico. This World Cup will be held for the first time in history in three countries — Canada, the USA, and Mexico.
The Russian national team has almost no chance of participating in the tournament as it is unable to pass the qualifying stage. As the current world champion, the Argentina national team won the title at the World Cup held in Qatar in 2022.
The 2026 tournament is highly anticipated as it will be organized on a larger scale across three countries. This creates unique opportunities for football fans.
However, Russian football remains in a difficult situation regarding participation in this tournament.
