Information has emerged about Surinamese footballer Mienti Abena leaving the "Spartak" club. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Earlier, the press service of the "red-white" team had officially announced the termination of the contract with the 30-year-old defender. According to the Metaratings source, "Spartak" paid 150 thousand euros to terminate Abena's contract early.
At the same time, it is noted that the player received a salary of 700 thousand euros per year at the Russian club. According to the source, the "Spartak" management decided to unilaterally terminate the contract with Abena by using a clause in the contract terms and continued to pay a small compensation.
Abena joined "Spartak" last summer and played a total of 12 matches in the team’s jersey, but did not manage to score. He was expected to be one of the key defenders for the club, but the termination of the contract signifies a new chapter in the player's career.
Currently, negotiations are ongoing regarding his search for a new team. It is not unlikely that the player will continue his career in another league in the future.
The "Spartak" management is said to have made this decision with the aim of renewing and improving the team’s roster.
