The forward of the "Akron" team, Artyom Dzyuba, has expressed his thoughts about the Russian national team. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
The 36-year-old footballer stated that he understands the chances of playing for his national team again are very slim. He emphasized that he has not closed the door on the national team, that he is still an active player, and that he wishes to play again, but he acknowledged that in the current situation, it is almost impossible.
Dzyuba also mentioned that he is happy to have taken advantage of his previous opportunity to play for the national team.
It has been revealed that in March, Valery Karpin brought him on during a match against Grenada. In that game, Artyom scored a goal, becoming the top scorer in the history of the Russian national team with 31 goals, breaking Aleksandr Kerzhakov's record of 30 goals.
At the beginning of the summer, Artyom Dzyuba extended his contract with "Akron" for another season.
According to him, he wants to continue his football career, but the opportunity to play for the national team again is currently limited. This indicates that he has not severed his ties with the national team.
